The Ball family may live up to something behind the scenes of the NBA Draft.
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, some within the league believe that the LaMelo Ball field will try to guide him to the New York Knicks in the next NBA draft.
Ball’s father, LaVar, has stated on several occasions that he thinks the Knicks are the best solution for LaMelo. It has also been reported that the Knicks are quite in love with the 18-year-old point guard.
Ultimately, the Ball family probably doesn’t have much power here unless the lottery draft cooperates. At present, the Knicks have the sixth worst record in the NBA, and are highly unlikely to have a chance to draw Ball if they can’t find themselves in the top three. There isn’t much the balls can do to influence things behind the scenes if that doesn’t happen.
