Kenny Atkinson first choice of the Knicks
Under the new president Leon Rose the New York Knicks are looking for a head coach. Mike Miller is currently an interim head coach after firing of David Fizdale. According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Knicks are expected to interview the former Brooklyn Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson.
The 52-year-old coached the Nets since 2016 until March 7, 2020. Upon his firing reports appeared suggesting that Brooklyn’s stars, especially Kyrie Irving, did not have respect Atkinson.
Tom Thibodeau is another prominent name who is reportedly drawing interest from the Knicks. Interim coach Mike Miller is also a candidate and could be promoted to permanent head coach position.
