According with ESPN’s reported Ramona Shelburne, Kevin Durant would have seriously considered signing for the New York Knicks in free agency. At the same time, however, Durant did not “push” the Knicks hypothesis as Irving did for the Brooklyn Nets.
The owner, James Dolan, would have chosen the Knicks management. The number one of the Knicks was the most reluctant to sign a player back from an important injury such as that occurred at Durant in the last NBA finals.
