Jeff Van Gundy said he is ‘extremely happy’ with the New York Knicks hiring Tom Thibodeau as the head coach.
Van Gundy and Thibodeau, who are close friends, were two of the candidates to take over the team.
“I’m extremely happy for Tom and equally happy for the Knicks as they hired an elite coach who will give everything he has to turn the Knicks around,” Van Gundy said in an email to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
