The guard played two seasons at the FSU

With the Knicks dropping once again in the NBA Draft Lottery – this time down two places for pick number 8 – they probably won’t have a chance to enlist one of the top guys unless someone falls over or they decide to trade. But there may be someone he already likes who should be available at that point.
Sources tell SNY’s Ian Begley that Florida State’s Devin Vassell has fans at Madison Square Garden.
The 6-7 second guard, 194 pounds averaged 12.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game last season for the Seminoles.
Vassell has a similar structure to RJ Barrett, last year’s overall number 3, but is more of a “3-and-D” player compared to Barrett’s offensive potential. Vassell got 41.5 percent from three last season.
Among some of Vassell’s accolades this season are the two-time ACC Player of the Week and the Naismith Award Defensive Player of the Year on the list of the best 15 mid-season finalists.
The Knicks might try to move up in the draft, but with little veteran depth on the team to entice the Warriors (Pick # 2), they’re likely to stay in eighth place this year, unless they can find another. team up for a three-way deal.
