If the NBA season doesn’t resume, for some Knicks players, their experience in New York may already have ended.
Bobby Portis signed a two-year $ 31 million contract with the Knicks that the Washington Wizards did not match. He earned $ 15 million this season and the club has an option for an additional $ 15.75 million in 2020-21.
The Knicks are sure to move on to exercising the Portis option. Portis has a club option, which means it’s relatively the latest sign that the Knicks can cut ties without absorbing any carry over.
Portis has had some superlative performances with the Knicks, such as against the Bulls and Miasmi
But otherwise it was rarely used in the right way, becoming too dependent on post-ups and deviating from his external game which makes him a useful player in a modern lineup.
